Announcing Liberty Ventures Investments from Year 1
Liberty Ventures started one year ago at SXSW as an Angel Investor Syndicate to connect values-aligned investors and founders. We now have over 600 investors in the Syndicate. We reviewed over 200 investment opportunities in our first year and facilitated investments in 7 companies.

Commenda—Commenda is changing the way companies expand and operate overseas. Their platform helps cross-border companies of all sizes monitor and remediate compliance needs in most global markets.
OpenAI - OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity.
SpaceX - SpaceX designs, manufactures, and launches the world’s most advanced rockets and spacecraft.
Anthropic - AI research company that builds reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. Their first product is Claude, an AI assistant for tasks at any scale.
Figure.AI - Figure is an AI Robotics company building the world's first commercially viable autonomous humanoid robot.
Some of these investments were chosen because we have strong relationships with the founders, who are values-aligned. Some of these investments were chosen because they are such high-value opportunities that we were excited to help our Angel Investor Syndicate access them.
This is phase one of a bigger plan - Liberty Ventures is, first and foremost, an ecosystem of like-valued business leaders. We create value by building this ecosystem and connecting our members to support each other in business. Facilitating investments is just one component of how we help these business leaders.
Given that purpose, we actively filter both investors and founders by their personal values, not what the business does. After applying that filter, we seek to find the best investment opportunities for investors and the best investors for startups.
