Principled Business Fellowship - Hayek American College

1. Overview

The Principled Business Fellowship, in partnership with Principled Business, part of Liberty Ventures, offers a scholarship covering 95% of the tuition fees for the first 2 years of Hayek American College in Brazil. This fellowship aims to support students who demonstrate entrepreneurial potential and face financial constraints.

2. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Maximum Income: Monthly per capita family income of up to 4 times the minimum wage of Brazil. 

  • Admission to Hayek American College: To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must pass both phases of the Hayek American College standard application selection process.

  • A Principled Business Entrepreneur: The applicants must demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and adhere to the values of Principled Business.  

3. Principled Business Application Process:

The application for the Principled Business Fellowship must be submitted simultaneously with the Hayek American College admission application during the admissions period. In addition, the applicant must also submit the following:

  1. A pitch deck for a company they are starting or think could be successful.

  2. A written statement on the applicant's alignment with Principled Business’s values.

  3. A video of the applicant explaining the written statement, in 3 minutes maximum.

Along with the following documents to serve as proof of income:

  • Three most recent payslips (for fixed-income earners).

  • Six most recent payslips (if commission or overtime is involved).

  • Income tax return (IRPF or equivalent in your country) with proof of submission.

4. Selection Criteria: The fellow will be selected according to the evaluation of a committee consisting of representatives from both Hayek Global College and Principled Business. 

Hayek American College and Principled Business reserve the right to thoroughly review all documentation provided by the applicant. Verifications of authenticity may be conducted to confirm eligibility. Candidates providing false, inconsistent, or unverifiable information may be declared ineligible.

The applicant's income will be reviewed, along with the overall assets and liquidity.

Scholarships are not intended for candidates with temporary financial needs, such as debt or short-term loss of income. 

5. Fellowship Requirements: Recipients must maintain a GPA of at least a 3.0 during Hayek American College, and actively participate in other courses and activities offered by Principled Business.
