Optimize Consulting is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Copy Editor with expertise in proofreading and refining written content, particularly in fundraising and direct response marketing. This role focuses on ensuring the highest quality of copy across various platforms, including fundraising emails, ad creative, internal documents, and other marketing materials.
The ideal candidate will have formal training in journalism, communications, or a related field—or extensive knowledge of grammar, syntax, and best practices. Our client base consists primarily of conservative advocacy groups, so candidates should be comfortable editing content that aligns with their missions and values, regardless of personal beliefs.
Company Description
Review and edit copy for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, and adherence to style guidelines.
Refine and elevate written content to ensure it is persuasive, professional, and optimized for the intended audience.
Collaborate with copywriters and internal teams to ensure all content aligns with client goals and messaging strategies.
Conduct final quality checks on fundraising emails, ad creative, internal documents, and other marketing materials before distribution.
Verify accuracy of information and ensure all copy adheres to legal and ethical standards for fundraising and political communications.
Maintain and enforce consistent style guidelines across all projects.
Provide constructive feedback to writers to improve overall content quality and adherence to best practices.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, grammatical standards, and evolving style preferences to ensure content remains relevant and effective.
Manage and prioritize multiple projects within deadlines using tools like Asana.
Requirements
Formal training in English, journalism, communications, fundraising, or a related field (or extensive equivalent experience).
Exceptional command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and style.
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or inaccuracies.
Experience editing fundraising or direct response content preferred.
Ability to adapt to different tones of voice, particularly for conservative advocacy groups.
Highly developed remote work skills, including familiarity with messaging and task management platforms

Benefits
Salary range of $50,000 - $65,000 (depending on experience)
